Spyros Mellas

 

Spyros, is a 35-year resident of Waterford. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and an Masters of Science in Engineering with a concentration in Management. With over 39 years at General Motors, including 35 in advanced technology, he is a problem solver and inventor with numerous U.S. and global patents. He knows the value of a good education and the need for good ethics to make sound decisions. Spyros has been an adult leader in Scouts BSA and has served on his church board as a member, vice president and president.

 

His wife and son both attended and graduated from Waterford schools. Being actively involved in the local community and schools, he has seen a decline in the school district. Spyros is intent on changing this trend. He wants to grow the district and make Waterford “The Premier" school district in the state. He is committed to collaborate with students parents, teachers, administrators and the entire community to give students the educational foundation that will demand respect and admiration from anyone they meet.
